We are very proud of our limited development approach and the concept has certainly been copied recently throughout the southeast. From the testimonials included below you will see that The Preserve at Little Pine stands above the rest.

Little Pine is proud to be the official 2005 Southern Accents Magazine Showcase Community.

Little Pine has been awarded "Most Environmentally Conscious Planned Community" by Pinnacle Living Magazine in their Annual Guide/Best of Communities edition.
As an architect in the late middle years of a professional lifetime of designing houses for mountain living, I recognize, together with my son, Parker, and the rest of our experienced staff, the great building opportunities.

First of all the location: The Preserve at Little Pine is at the end of an unmistakably mountain path, from the cities and highways, across the broad river, through the valley, up the cove , and onto the mountain itself.

Then there is the protection: Hundreds of acres of perpetually preserved Southern Appalachian mountain forest with exceptional character-big trees, lots of water, and all the other good stuff.

The right amenities: Unsurpassed views; extensive, friendly trails for hiking, horseback, and biking; shelters, overlooks, ponds , stables.....

And terrific homesites: Assessible, buildable, usable, and private. As a "limited development" the few homesites are located where they should be--where there is a place to build, a way to get there, and a reason to be there. These truly are "legacy" homesites.

That's really the hard part--finding the right place to be, a place where beauty, security, serenity, community and true recreation are possible.

For us the rest is easy.

I've been searching for a place in Western North Carolina for several years. My problem was that I was looking for something that didn't exist, until now. The Preserve has given me the perfect place to feel deep in the mountains while only being minutes to the store. I'm very excited about the home I'm building and can't wait to enjoy the views and forest sounds from my serene backyard.

My wife and I bought a lot in another development over two years ago. We hesitated beginning construction for lack of time...I'm glad we did. Through word of mouth a friend told me about The Preserve and once my family and I saw the place we were taken. I've since purchased a 3 acre lot in The Preserve and we've begun selecting home plans and have been working with the developers to design our home.
