The Preserve Communities is committed to a sustainable future by incorporating the use of alternative energies in its each of its private mountain communities.
Alternative or renewable power sources include solar energy from the sun; wind energy from the heating of the earth’s surface; geothermal energy from inside the earth; biomass from plants; and micro hydro energy from water.
Little Pine’s natural setting makes it innately conducive to sustainable features such as solar, wind, micro hydro power and other green alternatives not typically found in private communities.
Wind energy experiments were recently conducted at Little Pine’s Grassland Mountain Lodge, which rests high atop Grassland Mountain. Solar collectors, which extract energy from the sun, are also being installed.
The Preserve Communities long term vision is to not only provide renewable energy for our amenity areas, but to also empower homeowners to utilize alternative energy in their homes.
By utilizing solar, wind and hydro, The Preserve at Little Pine hopes to one day generate enough power to sell back into the local power grid.
